All bourbons are whiskeys , but not all whiskeys are bourbon, and contrary to popular belief, not all bourbon must be made in Kentucky! To be called bourbon, a whiskey must be made with at least 51% corn in the mash, with other grains like rye and barley accompanying it.

Bourbon must be bottled at at least 40% ABV. Finally, it must be produced in the United States. To be called “Straight Bourbon” the whiskey is matured for at least two years.
